Daniel Aldana is an artist living in Germany. He believes that the most exciting painting is painted Alla prima – in one session.
He majored in art in college, but like most representational painters, he has sought to learn painting from painters. Especially influential were a couple of intensive painting workshops in Philadelphia’s Studio Incamminati with Nelson Shanks in 2002 & 2003, and then an outdoor painting course with Jeff Horn in 2005.
“To learn to paint is to learn to see. When one paints it is to create an illusion. I hope to occasionally create an illusion of time and place where the viewer momentarily feels transported.”
